ABOUT

David Moufang, known by his artist name, Move D, is an ambient techno musician and DJ from Heidelberg in Germany.

Moufang, having spent the bulk of his childhood absorbing his parents love for Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk, while also harnessing an particular obsession with outer space became a multi-instrumentalist early in life and excelled particularly in guitar and piano. He played guitar in a band called Rivers & Trains as late as the 1990s, also enjoyed success as a DJ, playing electro, funk and jazz records. In 1989, he discovered techno in Milk! Club, in the industrial district of Mannheim, an experience that changed the course of his life and birthed a pioneer to the world. 

 

His first Move D records, Earth to Infinity (1992) and Big Rooms (1993) represented the compositions of an experimental and contemporary talent, with the release of Homeworks (1993), his place in the scene was cemented. He has produced a further five records, Reagenz (1994), Kunststoff (1995), Exploring the Psychedelic (1996), A Day in the Live (1997) and Conjoint (1997). Moufang also records music with several other projects, including Deep Space Network, with partner Jonas Grossmann, and Earth to Infinity, Reagenz, Koolfang, and Conjoint.

 

He is currently working on several new projects, including a new Deep Space Network album and a second album with Conjoint. Moufang continues to innovate and push the boundaries of experimental electronic music.
